Welcome to The Oswego Classroom Teachers' Association.
This Association has been established to promote the best interests of the teachers and other members of the professional staff within the district. 

Monthly OCTA general membership meetings happen on the second Tuesday of each month at the OCTA office starting at 4:10- 157 East First Street Oswego, NY (above the Tea Company).  Have a question or concern for the OCTA officers or Board of Directors? Please use the 'Contact Us' box to the right to enter your question. We will address all questions at the next OCTA general assembly meeting, and the information will be disseminated through your building president, vice president or representative (see Building Officer / Rep list).

Oswego Classroom Teachers Association

The Oswego Classroom Teachers' Association seeks to: 
1. advance the standards for the teaching profession 
2. secure the conditions necessary for the greatest efficiency of the teachers and the school district
3. promote the welfare of its members
4. organize all personnel engaged in education into one united organization

This is Roger Sprague's second year as OCTA President. Roger is in his 27th year of teaching and has been active on the OCTA Board of Representatives for more than 20 years. Roger is a dedicated leader and Oswego is proud to have him as head of the OCTA. Roger teaches first grade at Kingsford Park.
Carrie Patane has taught for close to 16 years now in the Oswego City School District. Carrie is your current OCTA grievance chair. About the union Carrie comments: "It gives me great satisfaction to be a part of something bigger. I feel I am having a positive impact on our profession."
This OCTA VP position (negotiations chair) is currently up for nomination.
This is Dan Rose's 7th year on the OCTA Board of directors in charge of internal public relations, new member council and website and newsletter creation and distribution. Dan recognizes the importance of a strong labor union and is working to keep the entire membership well informed.
Jenn Cahill has been a part of  your OCTA Board of directors for close to 7 years now, serving as leader of political action and external public relations. Mrs. Cahill says that the Oswego 
students are her first love, but that she also enjoys working with teachers.
OCTA treasurer Mike Patane brings his 14 years of math teaching experience and his love of numbers to your Board of Directors. Mike has been actively involved with your union for close to 10 years now. His numeric prowess is unmatched. Mike teaches 8th graders at the Oswego Middle School.
 Ed Fayette has been teaching in the Oswego City School District since 1983. In his long tenure, Ed has taught 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades.He has been the OCTA secretary since 1989 and the OCTA Vote Cope coordinator since 2007.
